i flicked through all the songs and they all seem a bit meh. like i'm not a jofo fan by any standards, but i do quite like that song about a town being run by criminals, and the dark harbours one i think it is.
the ones i do like are fast and catchy, but most of the songs on this album just seem to be slow and far too boring. i know me giving an opinion about a jofo album is about as valid as either of you telling me how hardcore should sound like, but that's just my take

This is a huge plus for me though tbh, sure most of my favourite jofo songs are the fast ones, but they do so many that it comes off sounding a bit tired to me, like Tru Punx has such a great riff, but I can't help but feel that it sounds like so many other jofo songs. The main reason why I didn't like Grace on first impressions were because of this.

Recently my favourites have all been the slower ones anyway, 199x and jfnv. First listen has been good but idk how itll end in the long run. Still, it's me being a bit of a fanboy.

right bumping because i've heard hello sadness and vs everything in full now.

    hello sadness.

i like it but it's no romance is boring. and i know each album is supposed to show development of an artist yadayada, but there are certain songs on that album that haven't grabbed me at all. that's not to say i hate it because i don't. i'm only on my third listen so maybe there's songs that'll grow. i hope so anyway because at the moment it's ranking 4th in my leaderboard of the 4 los camp! albums. i really like by yr hand and hello sadness and death rattle. i dunno, i really want it to grow on me. and i hope it does. gonna play it to death this week and hope for the best.

    johnny foreigner vs everything:

when i first heard the stream with my internet cutting out and in general bad quality, i hated it. i thought it didn't go together at all. sat down tonight, my internet fixed, closed my other windows and just focused on the album. i love it so much. from beginning to end i was hooked. they've grown so much yet they're the same old band on the inside and it just reverbs through every song. it's like i'm so proud of them and so relieved all at the same time. i was so worried i'd hate this record and all it stood for, but i love it all. favourite songs being 200x (just a perfect song in my eyes) (don't) show us your fangs, doesn't believe in angels and you vs everything. it's more like waited up than it is like grace and i love that. i always loved grace but waited up had the edge for me, and this leans more towards that way. it's ******* fantastic. i don't think i can say anymore really.

[@]@samsaBEAR[/@] (love this new tagging thing): both songs you listed you liked were from grace, and if i remember correctly you liked every cloakroom ever. so i don't think you'll like it. i don't really remember you liking anything from the first album. well you liked bullring. to be honest, when there's an actual download (there is one about at the moment but lex did this whole anit-piracy thing so there are tonnes of fake torrents about) give it a listen. i think you'll like it, even though it's not really yr thing.

[@]@Plebings[/@] HAVE YOU HEARD HELLO SADNESS YET?

I wasn't expecting Hello Sadness to be such a low-key affair, it definately sounds like a grower, only listened to it twice mind. It sounds so devastating. Yup, no RIB though. (so far)

Favourite songs on first listen: Hate for the Island, Hello Sadness, Songs About Your Girlfriend

JOFO. On first listen it sounded amazing, I'm much keener on the slower ones with them atm, Alternate Timelines being the highlight for me atm, the intro to swell is ace, supermorning is superb, you vs everything all kinds of awesome. And 200x is sososo lovely.

It sounds a very album-album though, not many single picks, but as a package.. wow!!

Also didn't expect to hear robert scargil V2 in doesn't believe in angels
