    Let's all watch it in context;

    I find it annoying that if this joke had featured on something like Mock the week, it wouldn't be looked at twice, but because it was bbc 1 at primetime, it's being slaughtered.

    People need to understand Jeremy Clarkson it's nothing new from him and anything he says about anything should be taken as a JOKE. It doens't mean he actually means it what so ever, fair do's about the strikes and I have no problems with people striking but he was clearly joking and a lot of people have taken this WAY out of context.

    Don't vote any of them then, you don't have to after all.

    But don't keep voting for the party which made the mess in the first place and then complain about it.

    Fine by me, it really doesn't concern me - we on the right are pretty much used to be by now anyway; we've been labelled for years as xenophobes, homophobes, racists, fruitcakes, loonies, wealthy scumbags and a whole host of horrid labels.. the list is endless.

    You have to vote in many dictatorships and it makes no difference, just as it doesn't here in many elections - not voting is one of our most precious rights and its a right that you should exercise whenever you feel there is nobody there competent, suitable or who represents your views.

    at the top point, people can be those things regardless of their political allegiance and i myself try to look past peoples political agenda when i talk to them on subjects other than politics. i'm proud to be left wing or as good old dave called ed yesterday "irresponsible, left-wing and weak" and you are proud to be right-wing. that's life. my problem with this "joke" is that its not funny. especially when families are suffering. being controversial doesnt automatically equal being funny.
    but that is my sense of humour, and i am entitled to dislike the man and his ******ed jokes. just as much as the clarkson fanboys are allowed to treat him as some sort of god.

    with yr second point., i would love to believe that people exercised that right, and if others did i would too. but i know there's enough people just voting for partys because they always have done and always will do. i'd like to believe my vote matters, even if it doesn't. i think it's depressing otherwise.

    Does anyone really care what Jeremy says anymore? He does this all the time. Nothing will come of it. People need to get used to it and get over it.

    It was a joke and he chose the wrong show to say it on.

    I don't see how its got anything to do with Unison? He didn't mention the name of any unions.

    I found it pretty hilarious. It was nothing more than a joke, this is one of those times where people forget context and jump onto anything they don't like. I am quite glad that I know nobody who has audacity and downright idiocy to complain about these matters as they all have a sense of humor.
