Good luck! I haven't done it outside of college but I'd guess there's more hoops to jump through cos your college can't jump through them for you

As for personal statements, I posted mine on TSRand they were really picky with it. I'm kinda hoping they overexaggerate just in casecos half the things they suggested were just nitpicking imo. You get a general idea of an outsider reading it though so it does help in that way.

Well I guess it depends on your tutor, but mine was really against that. She wanted to know what I had been up to and achieved since leaving college so she could write a more reflective, up-to-date one. Haha.

I have 6 days for Loughborough to get my reference sent to UCAS and for me to edit and post my personal statement. Doable.

I'm reapplying this year so I can move to another Uni and do a more specific course, I decided a course like Network Management and Design or Computer Networks degrees that pull in Cisco and MS certs would be better than the Computer Science course I'm on at the moment.

Looking forward to it really, not enjoying my current course too much.

oh bethie, the bit of advice I got which was useful for the PS were:

70% about the course and why you want to do it/are suitable for it and 30% about personal achievements and how they feed into your course

also try to link most points you make back to why you're good for the course
