At my school they will pay for your resit in some circumstances, so you should ask at yours. I think it's worth trying to get a C because maths is often a subject that employers find important.

I think you definitely need to resit it. As someone said above, if you go off hairdressing or it doesn't work out for you, you will need a c or above in maths. A D in maths probably won't look too tidy for anyone looking at your CV or whatever.

Did you take the maths exam last november?

I took that one, and all of the teachers at my school said that it was abnormally hard so if you retake I'm sure it'll be easier? A lot of my class didn't do as well as hoped (missing out on the A* or A by just a few marks in some cases).

    Having said that, I got 191/200 :p

i would recommend getting atleast a C in maths, as it's normally what employers look for.

Oops sorry just made a new thread on this. My school are paying for a remark as I was 2 marks off a c so fingers crossed and if that doesn't work they're paying for my resit in 6 weeks time! I hope it is easier thought tbh :/

I think it probably will be, the one in Nov was very hard (I'm just very good at maths if I say so myself which is why I got a high mark).

Remember if you find it easier, then so will everyone else and so the grade boundaries will be higher. For instance, that was a hard maths paper so an A* was only 80%, when usually its ~90%. An easier paper means higher grade boundaries, so make sure you get those marks!

    good luck

Thank you Yeah I know but idk I think I'd rather it be easier and higher boundaries than as hard as that. I feel such a failure that I didn't even get 47/200 lmao

definitely retake. Unless you get at least a C in Maths at GCSE level or equivalent - employers won't even look at you.

If you're really struggling get someone like a tutor to explain it until you get it or something?
    Good luck eitherway x

Retake it and ask to do the higher paper if you did foundation or intermediate. It's easier to obtain a C.
