I prefer PS3, mainly because of the high quality and bluray. Ngl xbox is better for online gaming, but I'd rather have my PS3.

personally i'd go for the PS3 i reckon it's just personal preference though whichever you prefer, i wouldn't go as far to say one was better than the other because at the end of the day they're both intended for the same purpose which is gaming, which they both do very well.

Well downloading content is a pain in the *** because you have the download it AND install it which i do hate, so yes i agree the content isnt the best but just the online play is fine with me even if you cant party chat.

Apart from the fact that all my friends have Xbox, which obviously isn't the fault of Sony, I prefer PS3
For a number of reasons I prefer my PS3: 1. Me and my Dad rent movies from Blockbuster and if I want to watch a movie on my own that my dad has rented, then I can watch it on Blu-Ray because my dad doesn't rent DVDs any more.
2. Better exclusive games on PS3. This might really sound ignorant but I can only name one game that is exclusive to Xbox, and that's Forza (also the Kinect games but since I don't have a kinect I won't judge them).
3. Free online. I think the main reason people get a PS3 is for the free online because ultimately £40 a year is a lot of money if you don't use your Xbox a lot or if you don't have a particularly vastamountof friends or games. I think if you have both consoles then you really have to decide which collection of games you wish to pursue. For me I chose my PS3, simply because I won't really be paying for Xbox Live after it runs out unless I have some money spare.
You can't even name Halo?Apart from the fact that all my friends have Xbox, which obviously isn't the fault of Sony, I prefer PS3

I wasn't aware that Halo was only on Xbox?
Halo, Gears of War, Fable, Crackdown, to name a few others, their is plenty of exclusives on the xbox, not to mention all the arcade games, quite a few of those are exclusive as well.
Honestly PS3 doesn't exactly have a huge selection of worth while exclusives either, LBP, Motorstorm, Killzone and Uncharted are the only ones I can think of and I honestly think LBP is the only good one out of those.
Getting a console should be based on nothing more than what games do you want? Will you actually play it often enough to justify paying xbox live or would it make more sense to go free? If the only service you actually care about is online gaming then PS3 has that fine, if you want a better online gaming experience then the xbox wins hands down, not to mention the fact your friends have xbox, that's something else to consider.
Honestly I'd go for the xbox, it's cheaper, it can do pretty much everything the PS3 can do, apart from play blu-rays, your friends actually have them and the service is far better, paying £40 a year shouldn't be considered a draw back at all, it's not exactly like £40 is much money.
I have both and I stand by that the PS3 is the better console but the Xbox is the more social console.
And given the evidence of new consoles I'd get a PS3 because they won't be replaced for a while as yet.
One for the road.
