I have some friends on both the injection and who have the implant. Personally listening to them i am dead set against the injection as it can really mess up your hormones. The implant i have heard both good and bad things. My gp tried to get me to have the implant but if the pill is working relatively well and your having little if any problems with it then why change it ?

My friend on the implant very rarely gets a period but when she does she is on for anything from 4 weeks to 8 weeks which personally i would not cope well with.

Give it some serious thought tho but imo the pill is the best method from hearing from other people anyway. x

Its not been working very well for a while tbh, which isn't really a problem as I split up with my bf as I last saw him in september, but I started getting breakthrough bleeding again and it's getting worse, I've been bleeding for 2 weeks when I'm not even on my 7 day break so when I do get to my 7 day break I'll have been bleeding for up to or more than 3 weeks which is how my periods were before I went on the pill. Like Emma, I think I'm becoming immune to it if that's even possible.

As soon as I've finished these packs I'll have a word with my GP and see which she feels is best for me to be on tbh.

I'm at a point in my life where I don't care if you like me or you don't. If you like me, cool. If you don't, meh.

lol I am pretty fat too :/ Not that much but I'm like a size 14/16 because I had a lot of weight gain from the first pill thta was a high dose and now I can't shift it. I been to doctors today and she said because of the bone mass problem with the injection to wait a bit and that she doesn't want to put me on the implant because I'll bleed constantly. I've been put on an oestrogen free pill that's low dose called mercilon but this one doesn't even prevent cervical cancer so that kinda worries me, it also increases my risk of epilepsy and my dad had epilepsy which isn't good :/

Lmao, at this post... Actually made me laugh out load in lesson...

    ---

Most of my female friends are on the implant... They say they prefered it that having the injection thingy... I didn't ask details about it because it doesn't really matter to me but yeah... That's what they've said

I'm not on the pill nor the implant I think it's a case of if you don't need it why do you have it if you get me.

Anyway, if you were to be intimate with someone often (not just once in a blue moon) I would seriously suggest the pill as the person who introduced me and my boyfriend once had a condom split twice whilst with his ex girlfriend, she got pregnant but she lost it. The other day I found out that his new girlfriend is pregnant the same thing happened and well that's it at the moment. I would say you can't be too careful and I'm sort of scared of going on the pill because of the side effects; but I would have that chat with my Mum when I'm ready.

These people in my college were talking about different contraception and they said 'depo' think it's a form of pill not sure what that does but I would suggest looking at different ones balancing the side effects etc.

Yeah my doctor wants to keep me on the pill though because I forgot what it's called but I have something wrong with my periods and I'd be on for like 3 weeks constantly. I do honestly want to go on depo though, the pill is ok but both my cousins were conceived on the pill lol. I'm just gonna see how mercilon goes for now though and wait a bit because my GP said the earlier I get the injection the more risk I have of developing osteoporosis
