While the name is similar that's not what bothers me. You said you know the maintenance page isn't the best but you put a lot of work into it. It doesn't come across. Simple can work if its sleek but you've went for the too simple look. What it needs is some branding in my opinion. Make it simple but stand out. Get a logo made if you don't have one and get it on there.
It's fairly common that people don't succeed initially in the whole world of websites, but those who do eventually succeed only succeed because they keep trying and learn the skills that set them apart from everyone else.
Chippiewill.
well iv just given up till i find a coder until then iv got my nice HATEFULL message say what you want the site is crap and always will be bye.
Findingd a coding team, design team etc. I know it's not easy I've been in the position but its no good launching without the right people. My site has been running for a bit but has had big problems. Won't go into full detail but basically the guy who did it wasn't the greatest coder and while it looked decent in most browsers (some larger monitors not so) we discovered it was very buggy, I've had someone working on a re-design for quite some time and while its took a while it should be great (the guy knows his stuff, I made sure of it).
The best piece of advice is to not give up but to work hard, get the right people. Don't just launch or put something online till you know it's right e.g. plan the site out.
Also a bit tip - As I see your going to be running a radio, advertise for presenters before you launch. I've seen too many radio stations launch without sorting their staff out so you have maybe 1 show each week if that. The problem there is that people will want the radio up during the launch and won't want to wait around while you sort staff out - you can get away usually with blank slots as long as most days have at least 1 show on.
Similar thing with forums - before you launch the forums get a few friends to sign up and do a few posts, staff to. Basically make the forum look as lively as possible because people often join forums for the community they offer so dead forums often put people off signing up.
It can work you just need to keep at it.
