tell me about it. her earlier songs/albums will most definitely be (if not already) r&b classics (her first two albums, for what its worth, are pretty stellar and basically engraved in my head as my mum always played em lmao). her current music however, attempts to repeat the formula far too close and really isn't working. when i heard this song, was instantly bored and thought that it sounds like everything else she's released. the same can actually be said for mariah and leona lewis. i included the latter she has an amazing voice, but the stuff she puts out is blah (plus she has the personality of a paint brush). the potential is forever there, but they're just not attempting to reach it because it may alienate themselves in the already over-saturated music industry (which is forever 'evolving'). in the mid-late 90s/early-mid 00s, r&b was top. and that is where mariah & soon enough alicia flourished as the (mainstream) music industry embraced them. now, it's more centred around music that can be played in clubs. it's a pity really, but because of this, many artists are adapting for the sake of sales and i generally can't blame them. perfect example of this is usher. still pissed at what music he is churning out now though, after he peaked with confessions (such a good album).
**** me that was long, and kinda drifted from the point...:¬:
