If you mean:

In public toilets: Yes it is acceptable, they are toilets after all, but I would always use public toilets as a last resort. It isnt that they are public that worries me, it's the fact that there could be millions and millions of viruses and bacteria on that seat waiting to infect you. That and the toilets are normally left in a mess.

In public: No it isnt, it is frowned upon and will most likely get you arrested if your not in a semi-private location

I personally don't even like using Public toilets - they usually stink and/or are pretty rank looking. It's acceptable, and I suppose - if you need to go, then you need to go - and so it isn't that big a deal. But no, I wouldnt do it...I prefer..clean toilets.
If you mean outside...god..I dont know how I would cope if many people actually did that..I'd probably have a nervous breakdown. :L I'm sure some people do it..but yeah..I dont like it. Pretty sure you could get a fine or arrested or something for it too.

I try to hold it in til I get home. not always very healthy so its purely as a last resort that i'd use a public toilet.

In all fairness @Richie; would probably let you.

I won't do it at my boyfriends house, I won't do it at school (well didn't only maybe one) and I won't do it at work. If there's a lot of toilets with others in them (so no one can pin it on me) then yes. It's like if I go to the seaside for the day and I need it I'm not going to hold it in that long.

In regard to doing it on the street: Think this would fall under the urinating/defecating in a public place law. Probably indecent exposure, human waste can be toxic and you can be fined/sued for the costs to clean it etc.

Most people have the capability to hold it in longer than they think unless you have an obvious bowel control problem, so there isn't any excuse otherwise. There are toilets everywhere nowadays anyway, pubs, restaurants, bars, shops, stations etc.

Public Toilets: Very unhygienic and I've never used one for that matter, plus most charge to use them?! A restaurant or pubs toilets are much more better and them I have used. Although saying that, public toilets in shopping centres are usually of high standard and acceptable.

with those who are along the lines of if you need to, just go. It is a natural bodily function and it isn't wise to hold it in.

Though honestly I'm too embarrassed to go to the toilet full stop in public places. And I do mean in the toilets. I don't think they guy was asking about in actual public... at least I hope not oO
