I only got mine like last month and didn't even know the new one was coming out, rather annoyed. Sticking with my Galaxy Nexus though for now. It does the job tbh.
iFixit it currently doing a teardown of the nexus 4 and it appears that it has a Qualcomm 4G LTE chip...

Bit bizarre that they haven't enabled 4G on it then.
So what's it like? It seems my Nexus S has reached the end of the update line (won't get 4.2 officially), so thinking of requesting/asking for the Nexus 4 for Christmas or wait for the next Nexus (assuming another one is in the works..).
I think the thing that's putting me off it you can't take the back off easily and the battery is stuck in with some adhesive. I mean taking the battery out and in has helped me numerous times from frozen phones and what not![]()
It is odd, that's one of the biggest selling points of many Android phones - particularly the Nexus range. It sort of ruins it, but at that price I suppose you can't complain![]()
