You need to fix the shading source, the lightest colour should be on the top, not on the side. In the middle of the day the sun will be shining on the top of it, not to the side of it. At dusk and dawn the side of the top will be the lightest.
It may sound silly, but trust me its best to shade right.

The light or sun is going to reach the top first, and shine the most, therefor the top is going to be the lightest/brightest, and the sides and bottom are going to be the darkest.
