This happened to me after a DofE expedition last year- both of my bigtoenails and one other came off.

Just because pulling it off didn't hurt it doesn't mean you've damaged nerves- the nail was just dead and so it was painless to pull it off. I pulled off both of my big toenails as they looks unsightly lol and both have now (just about) grown back perfectly

Have you got a new nail growing underneath that you can see yet?

When I dropped a stool on mine that happened and I left it and it was perfectly fine now I have a bump where the new nail grew back a small reminder not to drop wooden stools on my toes

I had both my big toe nails surgically removed about 3 years ago now, cause they got badly infected on both of them, and they put some stuff on that stops them ever growing back. Basically just protect it so this can't happen if you want to keep your toenails!

Actually have always preferred it since though without them, just find it nicer to not be able to break them or stub them or something ha ha.

I have never had this before but I did for my finger beside my thumb. It is sensible at first but then you don't feel a thing.
You can put cream and a little band aid on it not to tight or it won't heal.

When I crushed my pinky the nail came off just like the surgeon said it would. It didn't hurt at all and grew back normally too.

I think if your nail isn't hurting and it looks like it's growing back you should be fine! If it does hurt or nothing grows you should see a doctor though. You should put a band-aid/bandage over it too because the skin where your nail would usually be would be really sensitive because it's had the protection of the nail for years. You wouldn't want to hurt it and get an infection.

Ah there's nothing to worry about then

It should grow back normally, although it'll take a while (as I said, mine have only just grown back fully after about a year)
