    Yeah you do realise once you rack up a certain amount of debt that you can no longer pay it off, right?

    You know like Greece, Spain, Portugal etc?

    No you stop being able to pay it off when you have no working economy, debt itself can carry on going up and up as long as there's something going on

    And it's a self defeating cycle as people then know you won't/can't pay your debts off on the timescale that you promised thus higher the interest rates on any future loans you take out or even worse, completely stop lending you money.

    If debt didn't matter then we could just double spending. I mean duh.
