Seeing as there is a wider range of straight women, shouldn't he just turn straight and find another ugly, hopeless female.

TELL ME UR THOUGHTS it was a raging discussion with me and a few other people!!!
You make it sound as if there are only 10 gays in the UK. There are loads of ugly gay guys just like there are loads of ugly straight guys. Sure it might be a bit harder if you're gay, but you shouldn't have to give up.

Also it's more acceptable for gays to groom themselves well and even wear makeup, whilst it's not so much for straights. So if you're gay and ugly then you can probably improve your looks more than a straight guy can.

Who doesn't care about looks? Sure as you get older people value other things more and more, but i don't think anybody actualy ever stops caring about looks. From what i hear though, money>looks once people get to their mid twenties. Women in particular seem to opt for the not so good looking doctor, over the handsome brick layer.

If you're ugly because you're fat and wear glasses, then surely going to the gym and buying contacts would be easier than giving up?

Anyway I don't know any fat gays. I know a few who need glasses but they either wear contacts or wear glasses that actually look good on them (i.e not the stereotype IT guy ones).

That said, i don't know a ton of gays.

I can genuinely say that I don't give a toss about looks, the only thing that gets to me is when people are CONSTANTLY like "oh you deserve better looking". I see beauty in personality, honestly do. When someone's an idiot I actually see them as less attractive.

There's a difference between saying personality making a difference (which it can) and claiming to literally not take notice of the aesthetic (which is nonsense). Especially if you're someone has at least two times recently stated a physical preference

That's pretty amazing if true. But I haven't ever heard anybody say what you've just said irl. Also you mentioned something else about why people care about looks. I know a lot of people that care more about their friend's opinion on a person than their own. I remember once in a club this girl i was talking to in the smoking area went over to a group of girls and then came back over to me. She told me a few days later that she had gone over to her friends to ask their opinion on me. She freely admitted that she wouldn't have come back to talk to me if her friends didn't like how i looked!

If I was to answer this topic then I would say not give up but it certainly becomes a lot more harder to find a partner or sexy times as usually gay people (from what I have experienced and I admittedly do this myself) will only go out or sleep with some attractive lol.
