they don't have to ask u to break the law, u can take it into ur own hands. like phil said about if someone was about to kill ur loved one so u kill them first, although I'm not sure if that would be against the law? could it count as self defence? Bt yh I wouldn't steal for my friends or kill someone or lie about their whereabouts, help cover up for them etcc

If someone was threatening to kill, say, your dad so you killed them first that wouldn't be self defense would it? I don't really know the laws but I guess it would count as one of the types of manslaughter rather than murder.

And I hadn't really thought about situations where this loved one was going to die. I was just talking about stealing or committing fraud or something. I guess it would depend on the situation if their life was involved.

well there's a difference between threatening and the person actually having attacked your loved one! and yeah manslaughter but i doubt you'd get anything providing there's evidence you did it to protect someone but still I would do it even if there was that risk.

As Jazz says, depends on the relationship.

    Family member, yes.
    Relationship, yes.
Friend for more than a year/2, yes.
Friend I've known for 30mins, no.
