Anything I stumble across in the little time I use the TV for that grabs my attention. The Blacklist being the most recent... James Spader is an amazing actor and to see him as a huge part in that drew me to the series more.

For both it's usually either seeing it all over tumblr, reading the book previously or the actors that draw me in although gorgeous animation is a winner too sometimes I don't care what the movies about if it has really well done animation I'll watch it. It's usually the first point though.

Genre really. I'm a huge fan of horror/creepy/thriller movies. The more scared and jumpy I am, the better.

Sometimes the actors, like if my favourite actors are in it I will generally watch it. If it was a good book and it was made into a film I will watch it. Or if the director has a good reputation, I will watch it.

I don't really go for actors and don't really have a favourite. I'm a big horror fan so I look out for horrors and probably go for directors more than actors such as Dario Argento (at least his early work), John Carpenter etc. Usually if there's a director you like you know you'll enjoy most of their films regardless of who's in it or at least that's what I tend to find.

For films usually actors and trailers, unless it's a film adaptation of a book I've already read.

For TV series, a good plot is essential. If I don't like the storyline, I won't bother watching later seasons. I also quite like series that have cliffhangers and twist and turns, they're good
