Exciting news from the "American Horror Story: Freak Show" panel at Paleyfest 2014. "The Shield" Emmy winner Michael Chiklis is joining the cast for the fourth season of the show.

Creator Ryan Murphy says, "[Michael Chiklis] is playing Evan [Peter's] father and he will be Kathy Bates' ex-husband," which is exciting indeed. Murphy does not specify if Bates is Peters' mother, however.

Chiklis says of his reaction when Murphy pitched the piece to him, "I'm terrified and I'm going to do it."

Murphy also confirms that every person on the panel is coming back in some capacity, which means in addition to the previously-announced Jessica Lange, Angela Basset, Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, Frances Conroy and Sarah Paulson, Season 4 will also feature Denis O'Hare, Gabourey Sidibe, Emma Roberts, Jamie Brewer and Chiklis. Murphy further says that there will be a few faces from Seasons 1 and 2 appearing in Season 4, but he does not reveal who they might be.

Murphy also offers this small tease, "The thing we're working on now is the opposite of what we did last year. It's so incredibly refreshing to reboot it every year."

yes coven was so overrated they need to do it like asylum or I'm 10294848372737% done, i hated coven then it got better then crap again it was so dull

actually really excited for this I hope it's dark and that Jessica Lange can be amazing to go leave the show with a bang, I want @Red; to watch and poop herself if there's any clowns lmao, I wonder what acts they're all going to be its so interesting eeP

i know so about lily, her new shows premise isn't amazin but the cast seems good so will probs give it a go

but coven was so **** i don't know why people liked it i hated the first ep but freak show should be better, i hope so anyway

I AGREE coven was so average, it wasn't scary in the slightest and i didn't like it as much as asylum

her best was defo Mary Eunice!! misty was amazing too because she's a fab actress but megh, she can do better
