When I worked in retail I did work a few late nights. They weren't too bad to be honest.

In my current job my usual hours are 07:30-16:30, but I have on occasion worked later. The latest was 22:30ish, of which I was away from my normal workplace and had to drive home on possibly one of the quitest of nights I've ever experienced. It usually takes me 1.5hrs to get home, but I did it in around 40mins

I work nights (well until about 3am) which is good because my sleeping pattern is wrecked. At the moment I'm going to bed at about 7-8am and waking up at about 3pm. I enjoy it though because it means i'm not disturbed by my parents whilst i'm awake as they'll be either at work or sleeping. If you got to bed late at the moment then it shouldn't be too hard for you to adjust to it, although it's a killer if you need to do things in the day after you've been at work the night before.

The one thing that I felt when doing so is the loss of time. Everything seems so backwards and having a social life is harder than it looks.
I know my body did not like it since you were eating at times when your body should be resting, and yeah.. it didn't go over well for me
