ot: All the genetic illnesses in my family seem to belong to step parents/grandparents so as far as i'm aware there aren't any that I have to worry about. I would have already been diagnosed for the only one I can think of if I had it so I guess i'm quite lucky.

Heart disease (possibly) and there could be cancer running through the female side of my family, although that's not certain either.

I'm not aware of anything, no.

I met both my great grandmothers and they both lived to the grand old ages of 89 & 92.

bowel cancer runs in the family, as do heart problems and arthritis (dad has rheumatoid, so that worries me a bit, especially how painful it can be and how young it can hit). That's just on dad's side.

Nooooo idea about mum's side, she was adopted.

High cholesterol & blood pressure runs through both sides of the family, especially the women. I'll be heartbroken if I have to stop eating cheese or drinking milk!

There are some more serious ones too, but I'm careful to get checked for them and I know what to look out for.

I also have something which is supposed to be genetic but from what I've gathered noone else has suffered from it! Must be super unlucky

My family has balding & hairiness on the male side... which is a cruel irony. I've also been told that I'm particularly vulnerable to schizophrenia and other mental illnesses related to drug abuse (one half of my family are druggies and drug dealers & the others are police officers and really rich professionals), and that's why I've never touched any sort of illegal drug in my life. Very boring.

Other than that, it's all funky dory.

EDIT: The male side of my family also have great sense of humour, me being no exception.
