don't listen to much but it'd usually be either math/post rock or dance/electro. have trouble listening to most orchestral/classical

battles - mainly instrumental post rock band.
phoenix - not an instrumental band, but have a couple of good instrumental indie-pop songs.
totally enormous extinct dinosaurs - dance act, bit like hot chip, most of his recent songs use his vocals though.

Too much to name, really. I listen to a great deal of instrumental music. My most listened to piece is Mogwai's 2 Rights Make 1 Wrong, with Ludovico Einaudi as my most listened to musician. My favourite arrangement from him is Limbo. I'm particularly fond of music from composers such as Joe Hisaishi, Howard Shore, Koji Kondo, Ronan Hardiman and Thomas Newman. Going back to more classical pieces, I love Rachmaninoff's piano concertos, particularly Piano Concerto No. 2, as well as Debussy's Suite Bergamasque and Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake.

Or anything by Hans Zimmer/Harry Gregson-Williams (shoutout to the MGS soundtrack as a whole and to Prince's Tale from HP7).
And I will kiss omg been ages since I listened to that! I love it.

Like most of Goblin's stuff they are a band often in horror films mainly those of Dario Argento and did most of the soundtrack for Dawn of the Dead. I think I like the fact their stuff stands out being punch and experimental at times such as Suspiria. I have no problem with orchestra type scores but a lot of film scores seem to be very safe these days. I also listen to some of the doctor who stuff classic and new. John Carpenter's stuff is so simple but effective such as Halloween, Assault on precinct 13 etc.

Oh and Clint Mansell especially the fountain is a beautiful score.
