(1863-1945) David Lloyd George was a Liberal Prime Minister known for leading the wartime coalition government during the First World War. Following the war, he played a pivotal role in reshaping Europe and giving independence to Ireland. In his later years he is noted for praising Hitler and German policies, until 1938 when his distaste for Neville Chamberlain led him to disavow appeasement.
He is regarded as the founder of the British welfare state, taxing luxuries, liquor, tobacco, incomes and land in order to provide funds for new welfare programmes. He introduced National Insurance to make provision for sickness and invalidism and was strongly critical of the Conservatives and the wealthy classes.
He was the only British Prime Minister to speak English as his second language, being a native Welsh speaker

Both Disraeli and Gladstone were the leading Prime Ministers of the 19th century, hugely influential on their parties and the country.

Similar to say Thatcher, Churchill and Attlee in the 20th century.
