Well that was kinda the point, I figured we should have ******** from one side to counteract the ******** from the other side.

I absolutely despair at people who pretend to care about X issue but then act in such a way that damages the entire cause. Such needlessly crass behaviour, and all it'll do is make those predisposed against LGBT people feel justified in their opinions
Also, a bit sceptical that his 15 year old would run away in terror of someone in fancy dress (lol) but interesting to see that no-one can agree on who was actually present:

"The politician claimed to be in the pub with his wife and two younger children, aged 15 and 10"
"protesters inside the pub claimed that Mr Farage was at the bar with his “entourage” and an almost-empty pint when they came in"
"Mr Glass said: “He was sitting on his own and left on his own. We didn't see any kids.”"

Would be interesting to hear from someone who just happened to be at the pub not involved either way to settle that point as someone's clearly lying

I hope Farage is, but I can't see him being that much of an idiot...

Well he's the only one saying they were there so far, but then of course the other statements are themselves conflicting and are from those who are apparently on the same side of this. I'd like to think he wouldn't use his kids to score points like that anyway

To be fair, children or no children, harassing someone outside of their political capacity is pretty stupid. If he was doing some campaigning then fair enough, but if he was just having a pint then that's just stupid. Jumping on his car is inexcusable too.

Title of the thread made me think he was branding them ALL as filth and scum. Can't really blame him for calling these individuals that after the behaviour. I'm sure their sexuality doesn't have anything to do with the label he gave them.

If many protests are to go by, they probably aren't gay themselves but see it as an excuse to harass someone who has made some remarks over homosexuals in the past. Although from what I recall Farage isn't homophobic, but either a mixture of ignorance or against certain overuse of liberties, or a mixture of both. Not that I support his views but I think killing with kindness is better than throwing filth at him of which he is partially immune to

A "don't stoop to his perceived level because he will only stand up and beat you with experience"" sort of event

Most of what I think about the OP has already been posted so I shan't repeat but I very highly doubt his teenage daughter hid in terror from a group of idiots in costumes. You might back against something but I can't imagine anyone running away and hiding in a pub. She probably was there- I don't think Farage is so stupid as to lie about the presence of characters in his sob story- but that doesn't mean he didn't exaggerate what happened too.

Why is everyone assuming that a 15-year-old child would be brave enough to stand by whilst 100 losers are effectively hunting them down? She may have just ran to a friends house or something; she would have still technically run away...
