I think this was said before, but if people want to stream music they would do it themselves. A few hours of fixed shows a day with decent personalities who talk about interesting things or get listeners involved > round the clock streaming.
I Would say yes if we can have it through earlier hours of the morning and afternoons when radio is mostly offline. Not peak times tho we need fun community djs for those times. Maybe have a trial period.
A couple of years ago I would definitely have said no- for the reasons outlined by others about people becoming lazy and stuff. Personally I think it's already too late- that's already happened and it's evident by the fact that the radio is experiencing a high amount of downtime lately and when it is online there are people just streaming music and staying on purely because nobody will take over- which personally I think is unfair on DJ's to have to do without the guilt of letting it go offline. I quite often hear DJ's moaning in the helpdesk that nobody will go on air to take them off and it just makes it sound like they're being forced into it rather than doing it because they actually enjoy it!
Looking at the staff list it appears like there are lots of staff in the department, however a lot of these do not log on frequently. I know some people in the department really do make an effort and care about it, but unfortunately that's never going to be enough in a department like habboxlive which requires on teamwork in larger numbers in order to keep the service active.
If I was visiting the site frequently and the radio was offline I would simply assume that Habbox is dead. I just think that by having music playing during these "dead" slots and even having Jingles and pre-recorded advertisements or something going on it would make the place seem a little less dead.
I agree with a poster above:
Perhaps keep the "peak slots" as being restricted from the Auto DJ and really work hard on ensuring those slots are NEVER offline (as has been happening recently unfortunately), but for the daytime slots etc I do think it would be nice to have something playing.
Don't think it would hurt to try on a trial basis and see if it does anything to the listeners![]()
Personally I get creeped out when I visit the site and it's silent, purely because I had become so used to hearing music before haha!
Also, whilst on the topic- we need to make sure that events staff aren't saying "Tune into habboxlive.com" to players during events when the radio is actually offline, that's happened a few times recently haha and they needa check first!

There are pros and cons of using an auto dj, but I don't think there is any harm in at least trying it out.

I've left, but I still visit sometimes!
well, i believe it could be tried out as Wispur said but i personally think we should let the dj's handle the radio.

It is a difficult one, if the main argument is that it will make DJs become lazy then tighten up on enforcing the minimum amount of hours they're needed to do each week/month.
