Got my leaners when I was 16 and we had to do 25 hours of driving with a person who had an open licence (so mum n dad), done that then we moved state where you had to do 100 hours of driving on your leaners so I had been driving for 2 years on my learners (After the first year I was confident to drive myself although we had to do the hours otherwise we couldnt go to the next stage) and finally racked up hours then done my test passed 2nd go and on provisional licence. Only had about 5 lessons tho

lmao damnnn i did about 40 lessons @ 1 hour per time. but tbh i didn't care about driving nor did i have the confidence so that might be why. i passed first time tho so!!! but honestly i didn't get confident until i had to drive by myself (after i had passed lol).

I think the average is around 4-5 months after their first initial lesson. I believe I passed at around that timeframe too, but to be honest I can't remember, it's close to 6 years ago for me now!
Though they say you don't fully learn how to drive until after you've passed, and prior to passing I was thinking that's a load of crap, however it's actually true in a sense... You may know HOW to drive, but the confidence and the "not winging it" comes after you've passed, with some experience under your belt.

I had roughly 30 lessons for about 1 hour each until the last few lessons which were 2-3 hours. I also practiced with my dad a lot which boosted my confidence a lot. I would recommend this, even if its in a quiet car park as it helps a lot when starting out. I probably would have taken about 20 lessons because thats when I felt ready but my instructor said I wasn't.

I've paused my driving lol. I've had my learners since I was 16 but have gotten away without needing to drive until now. I'll start learning to drive again soon.

I started driving at age 14. The very first time I tried to park, I made it into the spot just fine! I was so happy. Lmfao
