I can spell and use grammar well when it's absolutely needed but I wouldn't say that it was crucial. Some dialects neglect grammar quite a bit so I make allowances for people who say things like mines instead of mine... I can't be friends with people who use the wrong forms of your/their though, that's just repulsive.

I find it really interesting to look into and I have pretty spot-on spelling/grammar as my job(s) kinda rely on it haha!

I do think it's an important thing that people should know, simply so they can express themselves in the way they want as generally, if you send a CV or professional email and it's littered with mistakes it can be quite off-putting.

On a personal level I struggle to talk to most people with bad spelling and grammar, I usually end up gently correcting them or just trying to ignore it... which isn't easy!!

lol I don't know if you do this but I'm guilty of subtly correcting someone by repeating what they said. so I'll use the psychology example again ok
So they'd say "oh I took psycology at school"
and even if I'm not I'd say "oh I'm really interested in psychology" just to correct them

I've done that a few times then sometimes I just end up correcting people, I can't help it! I usually ask if they mind or not if its not someone I know well but most of the people who know me well enough know that I'm a bit of a grammar nazi and only mean to teach rather than make them feel bad

I used to be really big on grammar and spelling, but I've noticed over the past several months mine has really deteriorated I should probably begin reading again to help myself!! When it comes to on here too I barely ever type properly and tend to shorten words a lot

I'm going to say it's fairly important to me. Everyone makes mistakes here and there and I suspect nobody knows the spelling of every word under the sun, but when someone constantly makes the most basic of errors when they should know better, that really grinds my gears.

Also if I feel like my wording makes no sense in a reply to a thread or something along those lines, then I usually just don't post lmao

I don't really care so much for it. The only thing that gets to me is when people spell you're or your the wrong way!

I have a few times found myself become less attracted to people because of their poor texting game, so yes, I'd say they're pretty important to me! Having said that, I do struggle with grammar sometimes but I am very good with spelling
