Horrible horrible turn of events, sad that anyone can get to the state where they feel like physically attacking someone is the solution let alone to this intensity. According to witness reports after he did it he just calmly walked off as though nothing had happened

I was close to tears when I read this earlier. What an awful story. Two young children, she was doing her damn job... RIP

Everyone on social media is saying this should be classed as an act of terrorism as it's the unofficial use of violence in the pursuit of political aims (which is literally the definition on google) and questioning where the line is drawn.

I have no idea why someone would want to do such a thing. Surely mental health would play a part.

RIP to her, such a tragedy.

Absolutely disgusting, no need for that man to do what he did. Was very shocked to hear what happened.

RIP Jo, I've read and heard a huge amount about you since your passing - you are a credit to your family and you'll will be sincerely missed.

Andrew used to live there so I used to walk round Birstall quite often, and I must say it is a horrid place you never felt comfortable. But even so just because it's not a nice area doesn't mean that you should walk in fear for your life like this. Never makes anything like this 'understandable'.

    Hope she recovers
It's crazy stuff like this happening so close to home

    RIP Jo Cox

Happening too close to home, I was away when it happened so I wasn't as close to it as I should have been. My sister however, was on her dinner from work just down the road! RIP to her.
