How many times, read the point scoring system!

You get bonus points for taking over squares and they get added onto your scores and get massive scores like they did.

24 x 6 x 6 x How many teams members you have in your BB team, that gets added to TEAM points, not individual points which increases your points

Absolutely nothing wrong with it, it doesn't go on how many squares are covered, it goes on how many points each team has.

For example if blue landed on a red they would get more points than if a blue landed on an empty square, and vice-versa. Theres alot more than the number of squares covered to take into account when the points are shown..

There are alot of glitches with BattleBall at the moment, however this isn't one of them, this is how the game is supposed to work.
