Mines 500GB too. No scratching noises, but mines a pain because whenever I turn on my computer I have to turn it on, and when I leave I have to turn it off, so I'm always pushing extra buttons.

I'm not crazy, ask my toaster.
So it doesn't make a really loud racket when you're transferring data on it? Do you use it as a Time Machine for OS X? Cos when it's backing up my Mac it's ridiculously loud.

That went fast.
I'll re-post with pictures one day, but I'll write about it for now.
Laptop setup. Sofa + Lap + watching TV.
My room computer setup is a bit more complicated.
Left->Right
Tower + External HD
Mac + Mouse + Key bored
Mointer #1
Mointer #2
In front of those two mointers my mouse + keybored.
TV + SKY BOX + DVD Player
The "+" means that they are on top of each other.
Nah, I just use it for odds and ends. Mostly for torrenting. I'd try Time Machine on it to see, but I'd need to reformat it.

Well ye, this one is exceptionally loud![]()
