The ending is lame when viewed by itself, but when viewed along with The End of Evangelion they both go together to make one damn spectacular conclusion. The End of Evangelion also has one of the best and most memorable fight scenes ever in my opinion. Which I also consider to be one of the most violent. I'm going to watch Evangelion again once I've finished college later this month and I actually can't wait. Heres the fight scene for anyone who wants to see it, but can't be bothered to watch the entire series.

Also, you might want to check out Rebuild of Evangelion. So far only the first of four movies are out, but it's a recreation of the series in movie format. Bigger budget, alternate scenes and up-to-date real nice looking animation. They didn't do a Dragon Ball Kai and attempt to improve the look of the series, they actually made it all again from scratch. Evangelion looks sooooo good with todays animation.

Before I would have said watch The End of Evangelion before episode 25 and 26 (the series ending), but now I'd say watch the entire series first and then after that watch The End of Evangelion. It's best to watch things how they were intended to be watched and also that way you can end on a good note, because there isn't really anything good about the series ending.

Well obviously things will be different since it's a different cut from the original, but director's cut is usually the best anyway. I think the ones I watched on YouTube were probably the original episodes. My DVD has both the original episodes and directors cut but I haven't watched it yet so I can't say for sure which is best, but they can't be much different anyway. Just stick with the directors cut, no point looking elsewhere.

Chris, see in Eden, who wrote that on the wall about Taki?
I dont really understand it now but why did the selecao kill the computer nerd and why is Taki being targeted. Also what was he doing with the PC transfering data?

I assume one of the NEETs that Akira gathered there wrote it. The Selecao killed Pantsu because one; he had found out classified information about the Selecao, two; he had one of their phones, and three; he found out some information of vital importance to Akira. Akira isn't being target persay, but I guess other Selecao are taking interest in him because hes going against the system, and he seemed to be quite a renowned Selecao before he wiped his memory. Pantsu was deciphering the information on the Selecao phone Akira gave him, and he seemed to find out something pretty dangerous on it.
