Your? Oh dear. I rest my case.
Anyway back to the topic, with people who are able to discuss topics, not people who joined two years ago and are unable to discuss without resorting to insults.

You'll probably get warned for that post, but the amount of rep you got for this post will probably make up for that
I don't see how people's level of education is relevant in a discussion about forum plug-ins.

I think you meant to quote the person who derailed the topic from forum plug-ins. Oh, unless you too, can't comprehend that someone on a forum disagrees with you *REMOVED*

Then you could argue that calling someone an idiot for no necessary reason, isn't suitable for this topic either...![]()

Trust me, I'm used to people disagreeing with me, I just don't think you need to be rude to people, such as your previous post. Although I am now quite interested in your level of education that you are so proud of
And yes Intersocial, you could![]()

I agree and disagree to a certain extent. While I agree that we need to be as open as possible (ie not using those 'you have viewed your maximum number of threads, please register) there is also great value in holding features back. Isn't that the psychology behind a rewards, reputation, post system in the first place? If members place value in these things, they will strive to accomplish those tasks that will arrive at the intended outcome. Everyone strives for something out of their reach (if what is out of their reach they deem to be valuable). In that sense therefore it makes sense to say 'hang on you need to work for x, y and z. This feature is not going to be handed to you. Be active in our community and you will be rewarded.'Both very negative. You shouldn't have that mentality. You should give people, regardless of what users they are (lurkers, active, pointless repliers) as many features as possible. Are you more likely to buy a car that has lots of features that you find useful or a basic model?
As someone who voted against having this removed, I would not be against limiting it to VIP/donators based on the lack of accessibility to new users if that then makes new users strive for that reward. For example, I like VIP because I like knowing who's repped me. That's it. The only feature I like so if it vanished or everyone had it, I wouldn't really care if I didn't have it and therefore I would probably contribute less to the community by either not entering comps where VIP is won or not buying donator that helps contribute to the site's funds.
Despite all that, there is perhaps a simpler argument you can go for and that's that the poll now actually says the majority want it to stay non-limited (and yes I know it probably wasn't when the post was made, this wasn't an attack on those voting for a limited system) but it seems the poll has swung in a different direction and what's the point of having a poll if you aren't going to listen to it.
