Haha, it was worse when we had the old groups and the button "Make Favourite" changed to "Make favorite". It pissed me off so much :/
I don't even know why they use American English. Don't Singapore, Australia and Canada use British English? :S. @Red; <<
@Okeanos; (idk if I spelt that right, sorry) - hm ok.

Well no he doesn't. People moaned for god knows how long about poor moderation and instead he wrote on his blog about how fabulous his team were. He said competitions were unfair and removed them, despite what everyone else thought. People complained for articles to be brought back and I remember he tweeted back something ridiculous like statistics show more habbos want credits than articles. Paul listens to who he wants to listen too tbh.
He wont stick with it, he will do it for the first couple of weeks to get back into our good books; no doubt he will throw in another 100 badges about the 'Great unmute'.
Apparently we are rumoured to be unmuted this week, however Paul hasn't confirmed it officially yet. '-.-
I wish he was joking, but knowing him he's serious. Paul's stupid so it's best not to pay any attention to him. Unfortunately, Habbos around the globe are stuck with him.
Can't they just have a huge, global filter which all hotels work off of (to allow all languages), and then allow each individual hotel to block harmful foreign words which in one hotel are considered harmless while in another offensive? Is that too simple or are they showing their weaknesses in the head department again?

It shouldn't be that hard at all :/ It was how it worked previously yet it wasn't updated enough on .com (C@m se% wasn't filtered lol). If they maybe dedicated time to getting rid of the large majority of ways to bypass the filter - especially sex-wise - then we wouldn't have a bloody whitelist which restricts multi-lingual users and basic chat in general. Sure, we can get out the basic chat (by earning our way out somehow) but the multi-lingual users is still an issue ;/ + American vs British English.I wish he was joking, but knowing him he's serious. Seriously, if they had just made the old filter stricter by catching out alternatives - e.g. Se% - then we wouldn't be in this massive drama atm. And certain words were blocked on other hotels, you couldn't say SS (for SnowStorm) on .de for obvious reasons![]()

Runescape is a good model for Habbo. Their filter picked up irregularities in conversation. I think moderators used to pick up on people talking in symbols - because why else would you need to? So when someone starts chucking symbols into conversations, they must be watched because they could be up to no good. It makes no sense why Sulake or so disorganised. If anything, they're a prime example of an organised chaos - they try to be professional but muck up in the details and execution. It shouldn't be that hard at all :/ It was how it worked previously yet it wasn't updated enough on .com (C@m se% wasn't filtered lol). Runescape even had a global filter. If Habbo can convert it into a whitelist filter, so all languages are involved, then all hotels can be multi-lingual without discriminating against 'foreign' users. Either that, or not have a whitelist filter and stop being so damn lazy and have moderators and a system in place to pick up on irregular and dodgy conversations, like they should be doing on a sensitive site like Habbo :/

Or we could have MODs who react to calls for help if a user is being asked for sex instead of just saying "mute them". Obviously we'd still need a blacklist, but they can't block every single word, especially if it's being spelt $3X or something. Then we could get rid of the whitelist. Yeah ok, that's a lot for MODs to go through every call for help, but isn't that what MODs are for :SIt shouldn't be that hard at all :/ It was how it worked previously yet it wasn't updated enough on .com (C@m se% wasn't filtered lol). How does the filter even work on Habbo? What words does it even pick up - only remotely sexual ones? I wouldn't put it past them to not have a filter because the amount of sexual talk going on was disgraceful, a filter would have picked up more than enough of those conversations if it was half-decent (like Runescape's as you said... that's probably the only thing I've ever liked about Runescape nowRunescape is a good model for Habbo. It's a wonder they didn't pick up on the "@" symbol out of everything tbh? I used it so much for giving out MSN to people and you know how the MODs are over personal info. But yeah, I understand what you mean by not needing to use symbols... very little point in it on Habbo.
I don't think they can adapt to a whitelist which allows all languages due to them adding the words manually. If they wish to spend 100s of hours going through the 1000s of languages on this planet and adding them to the white list, it's just unnecessary and time-wasting > A strict "black list" is a much easier option.
Picking up on symbols is a very good idea though aha. I would go tell Paul but 1 - He doesn't care. 2 - I don't like Twitter ;l. 3 - They're never going to improve moderation unless it involves Guardian Hobbas

@BamitsElfie!; Of course they can't block EVERY word. But as they have done with the poll in the Picnic on foreign hotels, create a poll-like thing and ask users to submit words that they know can be used to ask for sex or whatever. Not sure how many would be willing to do that, but I certainly would aha.
Their only downfall would be apostrophes though. I believe I could type C''''A''''M without it being filtered, apostrophes seem to allow a lot to bypass the filter (especially the number filter on forums).
