A fresh start is nice, yes, but after only half a year or less? The whole point of finished creations is that they can still be explored/enjoyed etc. They're just not the same when they've been imported from an old map. When this happens you think what's the point in building anything when it's all just going to be wiped again in a few months.

There aint no pleasing some people. Admins offering their time to copy stuff off, some in sections because it's so big, and we're still the bad guys.

Nobody is victimising the admins. Why was it done without consultation? No announcement, nothing, just logged in and bam it was different. What gets me is that it didn't need to be done, at all. Why not just mass-wipe the unfinished/ugly/griefed buildings instead? It's not just about my own creations, I liked the creations of others too; it's months of work simply pushed aside.
Why not just have a portion of the old map to the side of the new one? Quite frankly I think the new one is more of a mess than the old one with all the misplaced warp points.

If the map was a limited size then yes it'd be perfectly understandable, but the entire point of minecraft is that it's endless.

How about we all stop complaining and just get over the fact that the map has been wiped.

Because barely anyone has been online for the last 2 months.

It's on my list of things to do to clear out the warp list but the command won't work for me, trying to figure that out. The good buildings are (or will be) on the new map, so I really don't understand what you're complaining about. No hard work has been wasted.

At the end of the day, it is my server. I could whitelist it and only allow certain people on if I wanted to and it'd be my decision. I could have just restarted the world without saving the old one and that would have been my decision too but I decided to be fair about it. It did need to be done, no one was coming on, people were obviously bored and had nothing they wanted to do on the old world. Nobody had been on in months. Now there's a regular amount of people on in the evenings and it's back to how it was. You're literally the only person complaining about it so it's not like it's a big deal. I've even offered you OP to copy across all the stuff yourself. Ooo scary warp points, I'll delete them right now.

It's endless but when people get bored of seeing the same thing all the time they stop coming on so a reset is needed. Minecraft isn't a perfect game and after a while the no objective thing gets really quite tedious. A fresh start fixes that.

I stopped coming on because others stopped coming on and I had work to do irl, nothing to do with the map. Infact there was plenty to do, and I wanted to help finish that cruise ship but I didn't have building rights to that area.
