Delay being the keyword. Things can't just fly magically into your letter box.
You also have a right to be annoyed by a delay. If a company says "oh it will get to you in X days" and then changes their mind to "oh now its X days instead" then I would be frustrated.

It is a virtue, but being told one thing and later on another thing is still an annoyance to people. It's not the end of the world, but it's irritating.
