The event just finished and I enjoyed it - straight-up wrestling, for a change, some might say. My two cents...
WWE Tag Team Championship
Finlay & Hornswoggle vs. John Morrison & The Miz (c)
Hornswoggle is certainly over with the crowd and he pulled out a couple of impressive moves. I'm glad that the champions retained as I really would not like to see this "father and son" team win any gold, but rather they disband and Fit Finlay seek Matt Hardy and the United States title.
WWE United States Championship
Chavo Guerrero vs. Matt Hardy (c)
I expected Chavo Guerrero to pick up the win knowing how little faith creative seems to have in Matt Hardy, and the sheer emptiness of the story behind Guerrero obtaining a championship opportunity; it seemed to just be a build-less way of Chavo getting the title, but now I know that it was just filler. Anyway, it was a good singles match with an explosively surprisingly finish with Hardy countering the third Suplex in the Three Amigos trifecta into a Twist of Fate.
WWE Women's Championship
Nikita vs. Mickie James (c)
I actually didn't see this match as I had to leave the room, but am glad that James got the win as Lea isn't ready to hold gold yet, but I'm sure will be very soon.
World Tag Team Championship
Ted DiBiase & ??? vs. Hardcore Holly & Cody Rhodes
After Harry Smith was sent to SmackDown! as a result of last Wednesday's supplemental draft, I was 99% sure that Rhodes would turn on Holly and we would be seeing new champions with the in-ring debuting Million Dollar Man junior. I'm sure Bob Holly will get lost in the singles crowd if he isn't going to get a new partner to seek some revenge.
WWE Intercontinental Championship
Kofi Kingston vs. Chris Jericho (c)
This was a good solid match; very fast-paced and it really showed the athleticism of Kingston. I had a feeling that Y2J would drop the championship in the match in order for him to persue Shawn Michaels for a singles match at The Great American Bash, or SummerSlam if they can keep the programme fresh and engaging enough, or even both, and the title really would not be suited for such a personal contest.
ECW World Championship
Mark Henry vs. The Big Show vs. Kane (c)
This match started off well and it ended the same way. I think Kane's injury from the fall to the outside was legitimate, and thus huge props to him for getting back in there after letting his opponents collide and finishing off the match, not backing down to the high-impact spots that he managed to pull off. I thought it was obvious that Mark Henry would win as soon as he was drafted to ECW and Kane to RAW, but a thoroughly entertaining battle of the giants.
World Heavyweight Championship
Batista vs. Edge (c)
I was expecting Edge to lose this one, but I was wrong, another victory in another controversial fashion. You have to give big credit to Vickie Guerrero for continually taking those bumps! I think she's a great character and really is the instigator of storytelling in Edge's feuds.
WWE Championship
John Cena vs. Triple H (c)
Two years was definitely worth the wait to see these two titans go at it one-on-one once again. A truly epic 20-minute match with countless counters, and not only their usual FU/Pedigree reversals, etc, but really unexpected twists and turns that made for such an exciting main event, courtesy of RAW, the new home of Michael Cole. I was positive that Cena was going over since the World Heavyweight Championship was remaining on SmackDown! with Edge, but the WWE pulled out yet another swerve on its fans worldwide. RAW is without a top title, and the former b-show, as it were, has two!
Very good PPV. Better than most recently![]()
Decent show, I realy did expect Triple H or Edge to lose though.
I was completly ****** in school lol
