Difference is Youmeo had to release as we are a business not a project. You have a tonne of pressure from people who have put their savings on the line. Where as with a project like SocialSigr you can do what you want, there is no one setting you any deadlines.

I never said that your didn't have to release it Greg, I know you have pressure from investors because they want to start saying a return on their money asap, I was just making a point that we are not releasing until everything has been finished - as currently people think we have release with just a single page or something?

What I think you should do is streamline the whole thing, as I'm not interested in the text and I'm the kind of person who is normally interested in reading abouts, faqs or whatever else when a new site releases as that's the kind of person I am. However because it almost seems "forced" upon me I'm feeling a little overwhelmed and think that if you made the editor more prominent at the top of the site they you could have something really nice.

I would love to see something that was big and airy like Tumblr on this project like I said before, it's the perfect project for it.

I agree completely, just the time factor is always an issue. The original idea (before I showed this design to Caleb/anyone) was very minimalistic and a lot darker but needed alot of JS for it to work how I envisioned. I am currently redoing that design to see how I can integrate everything I need into it (including support for the full JS editor).

I'll see how things pan out and post relevant updates in this thread as and when needed.

Also on another note: Josh-sama turn it down a bit... my backside is actually beginning to get sore.

Uh, just to cut further arguements, I made a mistake, and was inappropiate towards Greg.

And Matt, implying I'm kissing arse or whatnot, I'm not rofl. If I was the previous designs you've shown me I would've been exaggerating, but I've pointed out the flaws and suggestions.

I've improved the positioning of the "Last updated" text today majorly.

It is now aligned, and will not continue to "bump around" depending on the length

I have also fixed the MySpace one to include status as well..

I've also added the Election 08 and Grunge Wide to the MySpace templates.

    Working on BrightKite now.

We dont need your feedback anymore, we have heard enough fgs. Can we not discuss the god-damn layout anymore and move onto the service at hand.

edit // Bit harsh I know, but I do understand where you are coming from - just we want opinion on the service rather than the site as the site is a 1 time usage type of thing.
