So lets use our heads for a moment and actually think. The exercise video industry must be worth millions, absolutely millions.
The Kinect is obviously a motion capture device.....great.....it can also read you heart beat.........Need I even say more MS will DOMINATE this market. Moreover, there is not a single product on the market that can beat it, MS has been refining this technology for years.
This console is about more than just games, the potential truly amazes me, but apparently I am the only one.
Honestly, if MS makes this thing easy for game dev's to harness (which they obviously will do there upmost to achieve), there is no reason why dev's would not optionally integrate motion control into gameplay if it can improve the experience.
For games which require the Kinect, you got it, it has to be plugged in for the system to work, there is your 100% Xbox ONE audience right there, you don't have to worry your game might be a massive flop and convince investors it wont be because only 20% of ONE's have a Kinect, go nuts, be creative, do something that has never been done.
When they first unveiled the ONE prior to E3, it totally blew me away, I did not worry about gaming because what is a console? a powerful graphical computer? (check) a decent controller? (check) and what else? What else can this console do? what tools has it provided for dev's to innovate with in the future? ******* cloud computing (which will only become more amazing with the spread of fibre optic) motion and voice control.....**** MS, you got it so right I can hardly even stand it and this is coming from a ******* MAC FANBOY, ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
Ok, Windows 8 was before its time, a toddler can see that but somehow MS did not, but man. Windows 8, Xbox ONE, Windows Surface.......am I the only one that can see what MS is trying to achieve here?
I'm not entirely sure how its happened but over the last few months (years behind the scenes I'm sure), Microsoft's vision has really shone through for me, I haven't got Windows 8, I don't have a Surface Pro and I sure as **** don't own a ONE but this time next year, I'll be rocking 2/3 of them and its going to be ******* awesome. Will Sony ever be able to achieve this level of device integration within a household? I doubt it.

A few posts back you said
Giving incentive to create bigger and better uses for Kinect.
and the best example you can give is an exercise "game"... Your average Joe isn't going to spend £429.99 + the software just to have some camera read their heart beat and have that interact with the game.

Any good games which were for Kinect have failed and by "any good games" I mean Ryse. Lol that turned out to be absolutely awful now.

As previously pointed out just because it is there doesn't mean it will be used. Infact, the only games I remember using Six Axis have been 1st party games :L

Cloud computing means virtually bugger all to the user, especially when said user has a ****e internet.

First issue that comes to mind here is that mostly females buy exercise DVDs, mostly males are going to buy a £430 console.

"if MS makes this thing easy for game dev's"
I know this isn't what you were talking about but I'm using this quote.
Why doesn't MS make it easy for INDIE dev's and allow them to self publish and do free updates like Sony?

No one is going to buy a £400 console to use for exercise.. Everyone is buying it for the Primary purpose of it plays games.

The PS4 are scrapping including the camera thing (their "less evil" version of Kinect I guess) with every console. Price still remains the same.

Thoughts? Surely this renders that thing on the back of the PS4 controller useless now? Isn't it like trying to use a Wii remote without the sensor bar?
