This year's is nowhere near the Leicester area. Leicester is kinda close to me, but that's in Staffordshire.England and Scotland actually get loads of premieres and exclusive anime films. Sometimes I think we even get more than America. Tales From Earthsea is released in yank land tomorrow when we got it over here three years ago. There is actually a very dedicated anime following in the UK, or at least for anime movies anyway. There must be some screenings in Ireland. I know there are a few small-ish conventions at least.
There is actually an anime convention tomorrow for anyone in the Leicester area. It's called AmeCon and is running from August 13th to August 15th. It is actually one of the largest anime conventions in the UK. Guests include Brad Swaile, Akemi Solloway, Wendy Powell and 1 secret guest to be revealed at the convention. As always there will be loads of stuff to buy and people to meet and Beez are going to reveal their new anime licenses. They posted some clues...
License #1: sounds like a film released in the same year as Sword of the Stranger, but really isn't like it at all!
License #2: is all about the music, and isn't K-On!
License #3: Another slightly older title and one you have asked for again and again since its release in 2007!
License #4: you already know as it went through the BBFC and technically already was announced. It's a straight to AL set from Bandai Entertainment's past. - This one is most likely The Big O.
Here is AmeCon's wiki - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AmeCon![]()
My bad. It's usually in Leicester. Still, you could always get the train.
Also, damn Naruto has some crazily epic fights.
If only the rest was worth sitting through.
I don't think I'll ever watch Naruto, it just sounds like another Bleach, and I prefer shinigami to ninjas anyway. I remember when Bleach used to have good fights, back in the Soul Society arc.... Ichigo vs Byakuya was awesome, but the fights now are so annoying. Some are alright, but it's like one person tries an attack on the other, comments on how effective/ineffective it is, then the other person just does the same. Repeat that about 10 times over with different techniques and you have a Bleach fight.
Yeah, watching Bleach is like playing a turn based RPG. I watched the first couple of episodes of Naruto years ago but just gave up knowing it wouldn't be worth it in the long run. Everyone has to agree though that it has some amazing action sequences. The episode I posted above must have had at least three times the usual budget!
Tbh thats all thats good with Naruto. The fights apart from that it sucks. Can't speak for bleach past Soul Society. And OP im biased.
Tho SW The end fight with Shikishame no ones got that on youtube yet.
The documentary was very good. I felt so sorry for Gemma, she was clearly shaken after seeing the demographics of her fans. I feel Beckii was a little unfair to her biggest fan as well, saying some uncertain things after he bought her a bass guitar. I just hope that doesn't bother him. That girl is soooooo lucky though.By the way, there is an interesting documentary on BBC Three tomorrow about some 14 year old girl who became popular in Japan after uploading videos of herself dancing on YouTube. The Adult Season has been really good so far, especially the 'Glamour Models, Mum and Me' documentary. I'll definitely be watching the one mentioned above.
