But my 2 friends are decent, except for the fact 1 of em cant decide what he likes for himself and therefore just goes with whatever i or my other friend like. Oh and the other one thinks naruto is one of the best anime.

    EURGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Ah well, ill ask em anyway
Aha, me and my friends met a hardcore japanophile in college. He was just some insane anime fan that knew eveything about the medium. He also remains to this day the only person I have ever met who has actually seen Utawarerumono. We kind of ignored him after a while though because he got weird. Starting saying sayonara instead of goodbye and stuff like that.

I also met one of my dads friends sons the other week who was into anime and manga, he was pretty cool. Some super hardcore gamer though, he had like 30 consoles, Atari 2600, Commodore 64, all the retro stuff. We played Goldeneye 007 on N64 and had a total nerdgasm over the retro awesomeness. Didn't realise there still existed 16 year olds who played the classics.

The two friends who nearly match me in fandomness have pretty good tastes. One is madly in love with One Piece and Dragon Ball but still watches a lot of other things and the other is into more obscure, arty things but never lets a good actioner pass (although he is also a big fan of Naruto as well when it's good, but when it's bad he criticises it like there's no tomorrow lmao). I also share a deep love for Japanese films with the second friend. We're always recommending each other stuff. I got them both into so much anime though, haha. Gurren Lagann, Sword of the Stranger, Hajime no Ippo, etc. Good times.

    You are so lucky

Atleast with your japanophile, he knew what he was talking about and knew lots and lots, albeit too much but still. These japanophiles just copy the culture bits like the peace sign in photos and dress/talk (yes much worse than just sayonara) and its like ughhhhhh. Oh they're also all obsessed with naruto, it makes me cry

To be honest some episodes of Naruto are reeeeeeally good and I am being dead serious. Last summer I had the house to myself for a week so I invited some friends around and the one who likes Japanese movies and arty stuff brought over his PS3. At like 3:00am we were just flicking through all the random stuff he had on it and came across and episode of Naruto, he put it on for a bit and we ended up watching the whole episode because it was actually awesome. I actually think I posted the episode somewhere in this thread (yep, here it is). Hands down, one of the best fights I have ever seen in an anime series. Still think Gintama has the best fights though.

Oh yeah, im not saying naruto is the worst thing ever, i just absolutely hate how people cream all over it. It does have its good moments, but the majority of the time its a filler or moves incredibly slowly (admittedly one piece does that ). Also the fact they call it the best anime ever just disgusts me ;<

only reason i like it because of the ninja aspect of it

Meh, it'll die out eventually. Back in the day people used to say how amazing Bleach was all of the time and that it was one of the best series ever, but you never get people saying that anymore.

Oh is 10:15pm past your bedtime lol. I wanted to roam the streets of London all night when me and my friend got turned away by the hotel at last Expo lol, but my friend wanted to go home. Bet he was scared of getting stabbed.

Got one of my friends to go with me, don't know whether to invite another friend who I haven't seen in agessss or not, but I can't really be bothered with the hassle of buying tickets for people and having to get the money off them later. Somehow it always takes months for me to get paid back.
