the 'zombie season' is an ongoing joke among the producers, damon and carlton. they say that season 7 will be the zombie season in their podcasts. it's just a joke implying that it would be stupid for them to go draw out the series longer than nessesary, because it would lead to stupid story lines, like zombie stories.

i highly doubt that this is true as ABC is only allowing them 48 more episodes (thats including season 4) so the only way this would happen is in webisodes
