I am starting a site called Grand Designs - http://granddesigns.sygon-hosting.com

I wouldn't mind a radio, but someone will need to give me a small ''crash course''

Sorry about Double posting but here is a crash course on setting up a radio

First to make a personal 'proffessional' radio you need the following things:

    - Shell (SSH) Access (Which means you really need a Linux Server)

    - A good host with not much downtime

    - Lots of bandwidth

Then download the Shoutcast Linux Server file from shoutcast.com
Upload it to your host and unzip the file to somewhere on your account (Its best to put it in the root of your account). CHMOD the file sc_serv to 777. Edit the config file to your neccesary info.
    Open shell and then type:

First 'cd directory' if it is not in the main root folder

Then once your in the right directory type: './sc_serv'. This will start your radio. Then just visit http://yoursite.tld: port/

There you have your radio! This is just for people who need a radio but cant get one!

    You are sopose to type
    Code:
    ./sc_serv ./sc_serv.conf&
the .conf file can be renamed.

You can also run shoutcast on windows, you use the remote desktop feture.

    Default Radio

I think I deserve a radio because I own a fansite which everyday thrives to get better and better, except for the news reporting part A radio to ourselves would make us much better :eusa_danc
