Ok "In chess, there are 169,518,829,100,544,000,000,000,000,000 ways to play the first ten moves" (Thanks Mentor ).
To make a chess game you would need to create a script which understands the rules of chess, where your pieces are and the moves which each piece can make (as you can't just have every possible situation programmed in, see the fact above).
Now to make a script like that you would have to be pretty advanced in codeing, and seeing as you can't use a basic mark up language (html) I doubt you could create a chess game in flash or even a simple noughts and crosses game.

My original idea was that someone would make a game, then you would type in their username to play them (so no limit to how many games). But because I wanted it to be a simple game which you could just go onto and play, I removed that all together.
