    Well it's easier to do it if it's in front of your own class who you know well. Is everyone doing one? If so, try be one of the first because a) you get it over with b) the people who haven't done theirs yet will be nervous and won't really notice if anything goes wrong c) they won't compare it with the other speeches

    - Double post i know-

    This is my speach. I believe I can tell you cos you helped me with my intoduction.

    Smoking is a massive problem in the Uk with just over a quarter of the population smoking, this is seriously affecting peoples lives. The main problems that smoking causes is that it is a serious health risk and increases your risk of getting diseases like; Bronchitus and cancers. The government are trying to crack down on smoking, but how can we help?

    Passive smoking is a large issue in the Uk. A risk for everyone, nearly everwhere. A near 30,000 die a year from passive which is a quarter of passive smokers. But a large 114,000 smoke a year. Children's risk of being born disabled, are increased if the parents smoke. They might also think that smoking is best for them and start before the legal age, which is 16.

    A cigerette contains over 4,000 chemicals that are harmful. These include;
    Nicotine - An addictive drug, and a deadly poison
    Arsenic - Used in rat poison
    Methane - A componant of rocket fuel
    Ammonia - Found in floor cleaner
    Cadmium - Used in batteries
    Carbon monoxide - What comes out of car exhaust
    Formaldehyde - Used to preserve body tissue
    Butane - Lighter fluid
    Hydrogen Cyanide - The poison used in gas chambers.

    Everytime someone inhales from a cigerette the air sacks in their lungs get damaged, and die. Also the Cilia which is the lining of the lungs gets paralysed.

    I still have the Conclusion to do, which is the hardest bit - Gotta wrap everything up. Ill try and do it now. But how is that so far?
