In my op[inion dont do barrows with melee, you should do it with mage.

combat means nothing to make it average time u need 60 attk strength defence if u melee and 59 mage for fire blast or slayer dart for mage and u shud be fine if ur ranging min of black d hide heres a guide to help u its the one i use as well includes maps and tips for lower lvls http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=barrows_guide.htm

Ahrim lowers strength, so you'll be there a long time meleeing them...
You need 59 magic and 43 prayer, that's all you need for barrows really, you could, in theory, do it with 10hp and 0 defence, as long as you kept protect from melee on while in the tunnels (although this would use a lot of p pots)
