Can't be a swarm, they don't attack that fast. It looks like those little bugs that attack you in lumby swamp when your candle goes out. Maybe it glitched and he's still getting pwned by them when he respawns.

Actually, you're all wrong. It's a glitch that got released with the new quest, if he lights a candle next time he respawns it'll stop. It's something to do with what happens if your candle/lantern gets blown out in the lumbridge swamp dungeon. Go into the cave and blow out your candle/lantern, you'll see what I mean.
