Fair enough.. but not all women want children. Now because of this attitude, even those who don't can't get into these jobs because they just presume they do. It's technically called the 'glass ceiling', where women can get so high in industry and in their careers but then no further.

Just been discussing this with someone on msn, they dont think that women and men are equal or that they should be. I think the opposite of that.. I think that they definitely should be equal. I don't think they are right now, not completely, but it's getting there. What do you think?

Well its really more an issue with the ideas of PC defeating there own point, Many valid arguments now are used incorrectly and illogically, and cause problems instead of fixing them.
Men and Woman are NOT the same, Anyone with eyes can probaly confirm this for you, there are quite a few very obvious differences, both mentally and physically.
The problem today is now where the ideas of equality have been pushed over there boundary, Instead of getting rid of social propaganda induced understanding, ideas of men and woman's places which really had no basics in reality and were just reflections of society's byass, now alot of the time its trying to attack facts, which unsurprising dont change, which is where alot of the problems stem from.

Depending on what side of the aurgument you come from, the issues are very different, and often tend to be quite hypocritical.
Alot of "femininist's" for example tend to destroy alot of what historicaly the movment fought for. After fighting for equalty, useing a web based exsample, most want to be called webmistruss's or what ever, Even thogh they history comapinged for the right to be called webmasters which would be the equal stand point.

Socaly it is unacceptable to hit a woman, yet accepble by most to hit a man.
That is a strong exsample of how unequal the genders are in socal view. Alot of that is pretty much bull****. But no one chalenges this.
Insted they chalenge why say empolyers pay men more than they do woman?
Although this one actaly has valid reasoning, female employes cost more than male empoly's. Theres a rediculus amount of evidance proveing this, and it easy easly demostarted by looking at plainly obvios facts. Yet this is chalenged, even thogh if men and woman WERE equal, it would be acceped. If there was equalty, whom ever cost a company more to emply would be payed less in wages to make up for the loss's they would likly incur.

The socal byass about hitting woman on the other hand, is groundless, and is definate inqualty in the eyes of society, not in reality. Yet that remains compleaty unchalenged or unbothered by most.

Society is not equal, and probaly never will be, a major reason for this is simply that where not clones, where not a collective interligence, we are each independant beings who act on our own accord, So for equlaty to truley exist a much more indveridualed idea of socal workings would be requred "/


ps. As a side note, the career over children attitiude today is actaly whipeing out are population, more than 3 eurpoean contarys may actaly ceace to exist becuses of this over the next 500 years. its also to main reason for todays problems of pentions and an ageing society "/

1 things for sure-- feminists will never be happy. Sorry to say it if you are one. Even if EVERYTHING turns exactly equal, feminists will say they should get more to make up for the past.

Feminists are generally women who have experienced either a very weak man (and so think they're better) or an extremely strong-willed man (and so want to outdo them). Feminism isn't about equality any more, it's about superiority, and is quite pointless. However this is how things happen with all differences, those in "minority" groups now seemingly have more rights than your "average" citizen. A heterosexual, caucasian male who is either an atheist/agnostic or part of the Church of England now has less rights than just about anyone.

*Hit a gay person and you're branded a homophobe.
*Hit a woman and you're branded a domestic abuser/sexist.
*Hit a black man and you're branded racist.
*Hit a Muslim and you're branded an Islamophobe.

All of this is due to people working for "equality", and not even knowing what the term means.
