It's wrong, but as somebody has already said, don't all these feminists go on about equal rights? That means if a girl hits you, you should be able to hit them back. It's takes a severe beating for a woman to go down for domestic violence, but a man can just give one punch, and he's a wife-beater. Surely everybody on this forum has been with a girl you've wanted to smack at times? But you don't. Yet if it was a lad, you would. Why? Aren't girls equal. Girls can generalise about men, but if a man does it, "CHAUVANISTIC PIG!" According to my feminist sociology teacher, "It's not as bad when people are sexist against men" Why not? Equal rights? Or do you want a maternal rather than paternal society? Society can never be equal when there are different norms for men and women.

Personally, I think it depends on the situation. I don't think it's right for women to be able to freely hit men. What about in the relationships where the women is bigger and stronger than the man and she hits him? Shouldn't he be able to hit back. If a women hits a man and breaks his nose or whatever, people automatically think the man must have done something to deserve it. So the mans always in the bad. Personally, if I ever hit my boyfriend and hurt him, i'd have no objection to him hitting me back. Though i'd never do that. However I don't think it's right for a man to hit his wife for no reason other than something stupid like 'he was drunk'
So yeah, it depends on the situation.

If you'd hit a guy, why not a girl? They say they're equal, so treat them exactly the same as guys. Having been in an all-boys school for 4 years and only recently having had any female contact during that time, I realised I have no idea of how you're meant to act with women, so I do exactly the same as I do with my male friends. Doesn't extend to hitting them, because I never let myself get angry enough to hit anyone at all (only person I've ever punched properly is my brother ), but the concept is there.

People saying that you shouldn't because they're weaker: In a few cases the female is likely to be stronger than you. I myself won't claim to be a strong guy, stronger than most (if not all) girls I know yes, but I'm sure there are women around capable of kicking the utter crap out of me. If that's the case, then the question should be "Hitting people weaker than you: right or wrong?".

We're at a stage where women have more rights than men in society, in the home and in the workplace. Women get away with doing stuff to men that a man would get locked up for if it had been the other way around. I don't endorse domestic abuse in any way, but I think that if we're going to claim to be a country of equal rights, we should actually have equal rights.

So if you got in a fight with a guy you knew was weaker than you, you wouldn't hit him?
