Yaa.. old. ;S It's never "just had static" as far as I was aware.
As far as I can remember:
Red TV had a black and white TV soap show... large TV had a news broadcast... widescreen TV had F1 racing.

Do you mean the medium sized one? The news reported has always been there...

The news reporter has always been there but i think theyve re arranged the order in which they appear
Before they flickered between the static, the reporter and the random squares, now it stays on one or the other (or the other)
And yes i did just sit here and flick through the tv channels like i had nothing better to do
