BTW just sum help wit the alt, i think it looks like its floating cos you did the light source coming towards us, if you change where the light source is coming from i think it will look better, just a thought.

theres to much shadow on the white arena floor and it look more like an ice rink because of the reflection. tone done the greys so that it doesnt look like an ice rink lol and yeh the reason it looks like its floating, probably cos it is floating

The shadow on the floor of the boxing ring needs to come down vertically not go out as if it is a right angle if this makes sense. That should solve the problem of it looking like it is floating.

Your lighting angle is all wrong and inconsistant. You've shadowed the top of the rope, when it should be at the bottom in accordance to your lightsource. The back of the pole should be a darker shade as it wouldn't be in the light. etc
