i love this game, played it for 5+ hour yestarday.
i know what you mean it looks childish but the gameplay isn't. i had my cousins round and they had a go on it and they had no idea what to do [my cousins are 4 and 6].

plus maybe if you rent and see want its like before u call it the gayest game ever.
or are you to scared to go in a rent a copy because people might think your a little woman?
