You said there wasn't a way to make money from magic.. Even if you alch a feather you still get MONEY.
Also yes it is magic. It's magic + rcing/crafting/fletching. For example it's like if you were fighting a monster using "controlled" style you are training attack, strength and defense. If somebody asked you if you were training strength you would say yes because you ARE training it, just others as well.
